Abstract
Acompound nevus of the external auditory canal is very rare and possesses features of both a junctional and an intradermal nevus. Owing to its junctional activity, it must be resected when it exist in the external auditory canal. We experienced two cases of compound nevus of the external auditory canal causing bloody otorrhea or otalgia. The one was resected via postauricular approach and its denuded surface was reconstructed by temporalis fascia graft. The other was resected via transmeatal approach and was reconstructed by graft of tragal cartilage perichondrium. Both cases were healed completely without stenosis or infection. We report two rare cases of compound nevus in the external auditory canal treated in a new manner.
